Quinn the Illustrator
Hi I'm Quinn!! I'm an illustrator and designer with a love for cute animals and silly little guys. My main interest is in illustration, but I also make comics, newspaper layouts, and some 3D art including small sculptures and fabric dolls! When I’m not working on my art, I like to hang out with my closest friends, play games, or even just sit around and relax!

Mads the Author
Good Journey! I’m Mads (short for Madison)! I’m a writer and director with a limitless love of storytelling. My focus for the past few years has been writing, but I also have experience acting, directing, producing, designing, and creating immersive stories in basically any way I can. I obtained a degree in Theatre Performance and Production (with an emphasis in Dramatic Writing) from Texas State University in 2021, and I love tackling new projects and getting to work in new areas of story whenever I can. In 2021, my one act play, Spencer, was ranked 3rd in the nation (1st in Region 3 of the US) by the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival. And, in the previous year, my 10-minute play ‘Luck of the Cards’ won best ten minute play in Region 3 (TX, OK, LA, AK, NM). I currently spend all of my time aboard the Halcyon as a part of the opening team for Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser in Orlando, FL in association with Walt Disney World. Although I may work in a galaxy far far away, you can always contact me via my Instagram @madison_miler or by email at madrock22@gmail.com!
Quinn's Artist Statement
What's Next for Tatum Turtle is an illustrated children’s book with a sweet story about animal characters finding their passion. I worked with my writer / best friend to create a story we both connect with and are more than happy to share with you! Inspired by my own childhood full of storybooks and cartoons, my style is simple but expressive and uses soft, bright colors to keep the illustrations interesting without being too much on the eyes. The character designs are cute and silly, very stylized versions of anthropomorphized animals with a uniform style that ties them together. Their bodies are all built from the same basic shape, but the main defining feature of the characters' silhouettes are their unique head shapes. Each character has their own bright color scheme with a primary outfit color that is unique to them and compliments the colors and patterns on their body.
My page layouts are inspired by the children’s books I grew up with, especially the Berenstain Bears books. I’ve always admired the way they incorporated negative space into their illustrations, so I based many of my own pages off of that idea. I do my illustrations digitally in Photoshop to keep the colors flat and the lines crisp, and to easily integrate the text around the characters. In order to keep your reading from being monotonous, I have mixed up the layouts of the pages so each one is different; some are full-page illustrations with text in just one area, while others split the text into sections that each sit beside one of two or more separate drawings. This way, you won’t have to keep staring in the same spot as you flip through the pages!
